Dr David Nguy, DDS, F-AGD, AF-AAID

General Dentist and Practice Owner

Fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Dr. David Nguy is a proud first-generation Canadian, born and raised in Toronto. He completed all of his education in Canada, earning a Bachelor of Health Sciences with Honours from McMaster University in 2012, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 2016.

After graduation, Dr. Nguy practiced as a general dental associate in both Scarborough and Brampton, developing his clinical expertise while serving diverse communities. In 2019, he assumed ownership of a long-standing downtown Toronto dental office from retiring dentist Dr. Richard Speers and rebranded the clinic as Atlas Dental.

The name Atlas Dental draws inspiration from Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, a novel that champions individualism, rational thought, and the power of human achievement. To Dr. Nguy, the name symbolizes a forward-thinking, evidence-based approach to dentistry that is technologically driven and uncompromising in its commitment to patient well-being. It reflects his belief that dental care should be guided not by outside pressures or commercial interests, but by what is truly in the best interest of the patient.

In January 2025, Dr. Nguy relocated Atlas Dental to a newly built, state-of-the-art clinic at 2 Bloor Street West, in the heart of Toronto at Yonge and Bloor. This modern space offers expanded treatment areas, advanced dental technologies, and improved comfort—all conveniently located with direct subway access and close proximity to downtown amenities. Atlas Dental is proudly independent, Canadian-owned and operated, allowing Dr. Nguy and his team to maintain full autonomy over clinical decisions and patient care.

Dr. Nguy is committed to making high-quality dental care accessible and personal. He holds Fellowship status with the Academy of General Dentistry (F-AGD) and Associate Fellowship with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AF-AAID). He is also a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and the Ontario Dental Association.

When not in the clinic, Dr. Nguy enjoys spending time with his wife Alice and their toddler John, working out, reading, and attending church.
